This will be our 13th Winter Retreat and we are absolutely thrilled about 2021!!
For some of you this is something brand new and maybe even a little scary… so I want to answer as many of your questions as possible. I have included a FAQ sheet just for you. But if you come up with more questions then all you have to do is give me a shout.
The most often asked question I get from teens is “What will we do there?” I am going to try and answer this right now!
The Winter Retreat is designed to be a place where teens can get away from all the hustle and bustle of their hectic lives and slow down and hear the voice of God! So we plan some real intense, yet fun, teaching sessions to get their focus on the things of God’s heart. We plan 2 teaching sessions per full day—on this retreat there will be a total of 4 sessions. We will spend time in praise and worship during these sessions as well. The sessions are very similar to what we do on Wednesday nights at the RYM. The teens will be broken in to small groups with great adult leaders for even greater involvement and interaction with what God is showing them throughout the weekend.
There will also be ample time for the teens to be teens too! There will be organized activities, games, and contests!
I would love to see your teen at the Winter Retreat! The cost is only $100 and that includes 8 meals, all materials, a shirt, and bunking down! Deadline for payment is Thursday March 11th.

Below you will find all the INFO you need concerning this weekend get-away!
Where will the Retreat be held? Camp Rock, Bridgeport NE (About a 45 minute drive)
What are the dates of the Retreat? March 11th-14th (Students have Friday off of school!!!)
What time are you leaving on Thursday? We will depart from Mitchell Berean at 4:30pm!
What time will you return on Monday? We will be back at Mitchell Berean at appx. 7:30pm
How much does the Retreat cost? $100.00 (Includes all meals, lodging, and materials) Make all checks payable to Mitchell Berean Church (Sending 2 or more students? Call Pastor Ben for discounted price!)
When is the money due? Now up until Thursday March 11th
Where will my student sleep? The Camp has cabins & dorm rooms (heated)
Are the guys & girls sleeping quarters separate? Yes!
Do I need to send any extra money? NO! There is nothing to purchase at camp.
What do I need to send for bedding? They will need to bring a sleeping bag or a sheets/blanket. Pillows not provided.
What kind of clothing will my student need? It is Nebraska in the winter! Make sure that they bring a heavy coat/jacket, gloves. As for other clothing—normal day to day teen stuff!
How many packed bags can my student bring? Due to limited cargo space we are limiting each teen to ONE bag! They can also bring a backpack to carry with them in the bus/vehicles.
Are there any items that my student cannot bring? This being a get-away retreat the following items need to be left at home.
– Weaponry, including pocket knives – Ipod or other mp3 devices
Can my student bring a cell phone? Yes. Though students are REQUIRED to turn in cell phones during sessions, and will lose their phone for the whole retreat if inappropriate behavior using the phone is found. All this said, we understand the need for communication between parent & child. Please do not call unless it’s an emergency. Let them call you. If you have an emergency please call Pastor Ben (970)-580- 4869. The service at Camp Rock is very spotty though, so please be patient as we strive to connect when needed!
