 Mission

Glorify God by bringing Him honor and praise in skillful song (I Chr 16:23; Psalm 13:6; Eph 5:19-20).
Encourage believers in corporate worship (Col 3:16; Eph 5:19; I Cor 14:26; James 5:13b).
Reinforce sound doctrine communicated in God’s Word as decided upon at the conviction of the board of elders (1 Tim 6:3-5; II Tim 4:1-5; Titus 2:1).
Prepare the congregation’s hearts & minds to receive God’s Word (II Kings 3:14-15).
Expose people to the gospel (Psalm 40:3).

Feeling Called to Join?

Relationship with Jesus – Faith placed in Jesus Christ and growing, having consistent personal time with God in prayer and devotion and bearing the fruit of a believer (Titus 2:7-8).

Fellowship – Regular attenders of MBC and supporters of its leadership and teaching.

Calling and Skill – Called by God and gifted with talent (1 Chronicles 15:22). It is encouraged that worship team members seek to grow in their craft by seeking training in areas of basic music theory, rhythmic skills and performing with other musicians. Training opportunities within the church will arise.

Teachable Spirit – Able to receive instruction and submit to leadership.

Team Attitude – Able to work well with other individuals and understands that we have gathered to glorify God only.

Personal Practice – In order to make the most of group rehearsal time, master your part upon receiving the set list.

Punctuality – Team members need to be on time to weekly rehearsals and pre-service practices. If it is not possible to make a rehearsal on time, please notify the team leader in advance. Those who need to set up are expected to do so before practices so the practice can start on time.

Open Communication – Communicate honestly and openly with one another following the principles laid out in Matthew 18.

Stage Presence – We are celebrating Jesus when we worship. Removing barriers helps us as engage the congregation effectively. This means pulling our eyes out of our music and having a joyful countenance.

Dress Standard – Please dress modestly.

Creativity – Voice your creative ideas to the Team Leader to broaden the style and effectiveness of the ministry.

Equipment – Provide musical instruments that you will be playing for worship. A pair of in-ear monitors.

Auditions – All incoming individuals must complete an audition and interview and be approved prior to serving on the worship team. The audition process will address the individual’s ability to meet the requirements of being on the worship team.

Evaluations – The worship director will meet annually with each individual on the worship team to review his/her performance.
