Our Elders

We are an elder led church. We believe the elders are called to be the spiritual leaders and shepherds of “the flock of God among them”. (1 Peter 5:2)

Elder GileOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAs Armstrong is our lead pastor. He and his wife Angel live east of Mitchell and have three children. They came on staff in August 2005. Giles is the main preaching pastor, administrates staff, provides various counseling and shepherding of our young families, and administrates daily operations in accomplishing our church mission.

Elder Gene Broeder and his wife Judy ranch north of Mitchell. Gene has been an elder since December 1996. He leads one of the adult life groups on Sunday mornings. Judy serves on the worship team. Together they also lead an adult life group.

Elder James Buck and his wife Ruth live in Scottsbluff and have two children. James became an elder in January 2010. He serves as an Awana leader and leads a men’s life group. James and Ruth also serve on the worship team.

Elder Byron Holzworth and his wife Amy live in Scottsbluff and have three children. He became an elder in January 2010. Byron is over our Awana mininstry.

Elder Randy Hoff and his wife Brenda farm northeast of Mitchell. Randy grew up attending Mitchell Berean and became and elder in 1985.

Elder Dan Howard and his wife Colleen live in Morrill. Dan is a dentist and has a practice in Morrill. He became an elder in July 2000. Dan co-leads a men’s life group on Sunday mornings.

Elder Dean Keener and his wife Diane farm northeast of Mitchell. He became an elder in January 1996. Dean co-leads a men’s life group and Diane teaches the two and three-year-old Sunday school class on Sunday mornings.
